Billable Hub is entering the beta application and testing phase. We are excited to start working with early teams who want a better billing experience!

This phase is about more than opening access. It is also where we get to test the workflows that make Billable Hub feel practical in the real world: approvals, invoice themes, better navigation, stronger reporting, and security controls for the moments when invoices and links need extra trust.

Internal approvals

Internal approvals are one of the biggest additions going into beta. Teams can define which estimate, invoice, and finance actions need review, including rules that always require approval or only require it above a set amount. Approvers can be assigned across the organization or routed by client or project, so higher-risk billing actions can pause for the right person before they move forward.

New invoice themes

We added new invoice themes so teams can choose a document style that fits the way they work. The goal is not just visual variety, but better presentation for different service businesses, client expectations, and billing moments. Be sure to check out the new invoice options. We think they are pretty awesome.

Restructured menu navigation

The menu navigation has been restructured so core work areas are easier to find and repeated daily workflows take fewer clicks.

Style refresh and dark mode

The interface has a fresh visual pass, including dark mode support for teams who prefer a quieter workspace.

Service auto suggestions

Service auto suggestions make setup and invoice creation faster by helping teams choose common service types without starting from a blank field every time. This should make it easier for new users to build out a useful catalog quickly while still leaving room for custom services.

Reports

Reports are a major part of the beta experience because teams need more than document creation. Billable Hub now gives better visibility into receivables, collected payments, client activity, work by user or client, and other billing signals that help teams understand what is happening across the organization.

New invoice and estimate filters

Invoices and estimates now have more filter options, making it easier to narrow long lists by status, client, project, date, archive state, and other useful views.

We completed a thorough security inspection and found a few minor improvements. We also added link abuse reports, giving recipients a way to flag suspicious invoice or estimate links. This offers protection to us from bad actors signing up and abusing our service, and it offers protection for users that suffer an account takeover, to stop the bad actors in their tracks before too much damage is done. Billing documents are trust-sensitive, and this gives Billable Hub another signal when a shared document may be misused or needs review.

Client and user account takeover detection

We have added account takeover detection and suspension paths for client and user access. If activity suggests a compromised account or unsafe use of shared links, Billable Hub can restrict access while the issue is reviewed, helping protect both the business and the people receiving documents.

What comes next

Beta applications are the next step toward launch. We will use this testing phase to tighten onboarding, listen to early feedback, and keep improving the workflows that matter most to service businesses: clear estimates, accurate invoices, useful records, and safer client communication.
